The Season of Mud has come. Recent warm daytime temperatures and above freezing overnight temperatures are signaling the start of “Mud Season”. This is the time of year when we need to take care not to travel on muddy trails and roads. What may have been a frozen, snowy route a couple of days ago may have turned into a slushy, muddy path that should be avoided.
Walking and riding when conditions are wet and muddy is especially hard on trails. Soil is easily displaced and erosion problems can result. Our Friends in Sun Valley have posted this Blog on the issue. Please do your part and take personal responsibility for the good care of our trails by turning around where you encounter wet, muddy conditions. |

|
Boise City's Foothills Dog Policy working group is seeking your input. Dog related impacts to trails and user conflicts are a growing concern. We are reviewing the current policies and looking for solutions that both protect our trai! ls and allow for trail-related dog use. Comments can be submitted electronically at www.ridgetorivers.org until 3/5/08. If you appreciate this resource, please make your voice heard during the comment period, and pass this info along. |
